Nominations Sought For 2017 Hall Of Fame

The Sarnia-Lambton Sports Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for the class of 2017.

Over 400 athletes and teams have been enshrined in the hall since 1983.

Notables include Mike Weir, Dino Ciccarelli, Dale Hunter, Harry Neale, and historic Sarnia Braves, Sarnia Blast and Mooretown Flags teams.

Board Member Jack McEwan encourages people to submit detailed resumes of those being considered.

"The stronger the resume the better, that's for sure. Whether they've been involved for a long time in coaching or umpiring, you name it," says McEwan. "There's a lot of local people that have been really good athletes over the years and a lot of them are in the hall but there's probably some we've missed. We can't remember them all, so it's up to the public to help us out in that way."

Categories include pro and amateur athletes, special achievement , builder, and team.

The hall is located inside the Clearwater Arena on Wellington St.

Notable members include Mike Weir, Dino Ciccarelli, Dale Hunter, Harry Neale, and historic Sarnia Braves, Sarnia Blast and Mooretown Flags teams.
