New Plympton-Wyoming Fire Chief

The Town of Plympton-Wyoming has a new fire chief.

Steve Clemens, a Lambton Shores native who currently lives with his family in Grand Bend, will start his new role January 3, 2017.

As director of fire and emergency services/fire chief, Clemens will amalgamate and enhance municipal services and in particular the Camlachie and Wyoming fire stations. He will leave the Canadian Fire Alarm Association where he has served as executive director to take on the Plympton-Wyoming job.

Clemens has previous fire chief experience with the amalgamated North Middlesex Fire Department, and the Township of Middlesex Centre. He has also managed fire safety and emergency management at Western University and Fanshawe College.

He says he's really excited to join the Plympton-Wyoming team.

"I am looking forward to build upon the positive initiatives already being done by the municipality and the Camlachie and Wyoming firefighters," says Clemens in a news release.

The department has two stations and 60 volunteer firefighters.
