Rayjon Marks 30 Years In Sarnia-Lambton

Rayjon is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Spokesman Diane Mckillican says it started out to promote awareness of both the culture and struggles of the Haitian people.

"Rayjon started after John and Maggie Barnfield and Ray Wyrzykowski went on am awareness trip to Haiti in 1985," she says. "They came back and told their story and their friends wanted to go and then went back in 1986 and that's when they formed Rayjon Share Care Inc."

Over the 30 years, Rayjon Share Care has partnered with people in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, partnering for positive change to improve their quality of life.

To mark the milestone, the organization is hosting a come and go thank you gathering at the Sarnia Riding Club Friday, Oct. 14 from 7pm-10pm.
