Lambton County opened its first library Makerspace to the public Saturday.
Branch services manager Laurel van Dommelen says it's on the second floor of Sarnia's downtown library initially, with a mobile Makerspace to visit various libraries around the county by early 2017.
"Technology available will include a lazer cutter, 3D printing, vinyl cutter, book binding, sewing machine, a VHS converter and button makers. Technologies that aren't easily accessible or available to the public for themselves," says van Dommelen.
The grand opening was Saturday from 1pm until 5pm with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2pm.
