Lambton County Developmental Services is getting just over $94,000 in provincial funding to help with its latest community-based housing initiative.
The money will allow them to hire a pair of support staff for two men with developmental disabilities that will be living at the Devine St. home.
Executive Director Tom McCallum says the men will learn a lot from the support workers including daily life skills like cooking and cleaning. They'll also help them get integrated into the community at large.
The home building project is a joint venture with Habitat for Humanity, and is expected to be complete in September.
The money is part of Ontario's three-year, $810-million investment in developmental services across the province.
