OSPCA Reminds Drivers To Not Leave Pets in Hot Cars

Plan ahead before taking your pet for a ride. The OSPCA has launched its 'No Hot Pets' campaign. OSPCA Agent Nicole King says leaving your pet in the car with the windows rolled down two inches on a hot day, is not safe. She says if you have several stops to make, leave your pet at home, not in the hot car. "We get quite a few calls, bigger shopping centres, Walmart, the mall, those are our bigger ones where people have just went in for five minutes. Any of those kind of excuses. We've heard plenty of times, but it runs into you chat with people, the till is slower, all those excuses right there that takes all time." If you spot a pet left alone in a vehicle on a hot day, notify the Sarnia and District Humane Society, the OSPCA or police.
