New Exhibition Features Local Artist

The Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery opens a new exhibition this weekend that features a local artist.

Curator Lisa Daniels says they're featuring six large paintings from Gary Spearin, who works out of his gallery in Plympton-Wyoming.

Daniels says the gallery went through a drastic change following the conclusion of the Beaverbrook exhibit.

"The intention to be able to swing from one extreme to the other and give visitors an experience at the gallery that is unique and different every time they come in, brings them back over and over again," says Daniels.

Spearin says he's looking forward to having his art featured at the downtown gallery.

His work will be on display until July 10. Unique art from Diane Landry, who lives and works out of Quebec City, will be on display until July 24.

Spearin will be at the gallery for a talk and tour Thursday, April 7 at 7pm.
