College Hosts Nationwide Guests For Symposium

Guests from as far as Calgary and Nova Scotia visited Lambton College Thursday for its first ever Energy Symposium.

About 80 people attended the day-long speaker series at the Lambton College Event Centre, which showcased energy-related technologies and initiatives.

Dean, Applied Research & Innovation Mehdi Sheikhzadeh says hopefully start-up energy companies will be attracted towards developing and commercializing activities in Sarnia-Lambton.

"From Lambton College side, we do have exciting projects in the energy sector, particularly energy storage and renewable energy. So, we are hoping we are going to showcase our projects," he says. "From Sarnia-Lambton as a community, we are hoping to showcase the capacity we have, the space we have, expertise we have, and also infrastructure we have here."

The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park and Bluewater Power also partnered to put together the event.

Lambton College is hosting the second annual Water Symposium in April and is hopeful for a new Bio-technology Symposium in October.
