Local Snowmobile Trails Remain Closed

Despite significant snowfall in parts of Lambton county, we're being told local snowmobile trails aren't ready for riding just yet.

The ground isn't frozen yet, there's no solid snow pack, and workers haven't had a chance to groom the trails.

Warwick Snowmobile Club Trail Coordinator Allen Stubbs says potential crop damage is also a concern.

He says conditions are simply not safe for riding.

"There is no base out there for the trails, the groomers are not out and they're not going to be out due to the fact it's not cold enough to put a groomer across the field," says Stubbs. "There are issues where we have water on some of our trails and there could be rocks under the snow."

Stubbs says those looking to ride should head north to the Seaforth or Hensall area.
