New Service Club Ready For 'Aktion'

The Aktion Club of Sarnia Lambton is officially chartered and ready to serve the community. Community Living Sarnia-Lambton and the Kiwanis Club of Sarnia Lambton Golden K officially chartered the club at a ceremony Monday afternoon at Wawanosh Enterprises. Past President and Aktion Club Advisor Dick Felton says the group's purpose is "to give these adults with disabilites a chance to serve the community and do things on their own." "They've already done, for example, the Hometown Hockey, we did the traffic control for that day and garbage pickup for that weekend." He says the club will start with 22 members, including President Christine Huctwith, Vice-President Chelsey Young, Secretary Tiffany Brassard and Treasurer Valarie Hickey. There are over 500 Aktion Clubs worldwide, with over 12,000 members across eight countries.
