Busy Agenda For Sarnia Council

Sarnia City Council considers changes to the Lakeshore Rd. speed limit at its meeting Monday.

The speed limit on Lakeshore Rd between Telfer and Mandaumin roads may stay at 70km/h. City council is being asked to endorse a county report recommending against lowering the limit to 50km/h.

Errol Road Public School could soon have a second crossing guard at Indian Rd. to help with the overwhelming amount of drivers failing to yield to students.

Councillors are being asked to allocate reserve funding for the Fire Station 2 revitalization project that has gone $114,000 over budget.

If authorized, staff will begin preparing a report outlining community impacts of SCITS or St. Clair High School closures.

And the City Manager is proposing her office be used as a common space for councillors, since she plans on moving to the former Clerk's office.

Council's public session begins at 4pm.
