A 50-year-old Brampton man, charged with first degree murder in Sunday's fatal Hwy. 402 truck fire in Plympton-Wyoming, appeared briefly in Sarnia court Thursday.
Sukhchain Singh Brar was remanded in custody until Monday.
The body of 37-year-old Gurpreet K. Brar was found in a Freightliner cab destroyed by fire on the westbound 402 at the Camlachie Rd. overpass on January 31.
Police say the victim is the wife of the accused.
An initial police news release indicated the driver of the truck had gotten out safely, but a passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation continues under the direction of Detective Inspector Heidi Stewart of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
