College Receives Largest Corporate Donation Ever

Lambton College is celebrating a $2-million donation from NOVA Chemicals for a new health centre building.

Over 100 people attended the announcement presentation at the college's event centre Friday.

The money will help fund construction of the $30-million facility and includes corporate naming rights for what will be known as the NOVA Chemicals Health & Research Centre.

Lambton College President Judith Morris says it's the largest donation to the college ever by any industry or company.

Morris says NOVA Chemicals has a longstanding partnership with the college, supporting 224 co-op students and hiring 118 graduates since 2008.

Launched in June, the college's Envision Tomorrow Capital Campaign includes the $30-million health centre, a $12-million athletic complex and $3-million for equipment renewal.

To date, the campaign has reached $33.3-million of its $45-million goal.
