Tom Mulcair Rallies Sarnia-Lambton Supporters (Gallery)

NDP leader Tom Mulcair attacked Conservative Stephen Harper during his visit to Sarnia Sunday afternoon.

Almost 1,000 people attended the rally at the Dante Club as part of Mulcair's six city Southwestern Ontario Whistle-Stop Harper tour.

In his speech, Mulcair slammed Harper for his failures on health care, the environment, and for losing 400,000 good paying manufacturing jobs in Canada, with 21,000 of those in the Sarnia/Windsor area.

"Under Stephen Harper, Canada's lost 400,000 manufacturing jobs, we have 300,000 more unemployed," says Mulcair. "Why would we even think of going back to him."

"We know that the team that defeats Conservatives here in Southwestern Ontario is the NDP and only the NDP."

Mulcair says they will bring the retirement age back to 65 and save up to $3-billion a year in health care with prescription group purchases.

"It's easy to remember," says the NDP leader. "Pharmacare. Health care. Child care. Mulcair."

The NDP also plan to get back on track with the Kyoto protocol, bring in a $15/hr federal minimum wage, and create a maximum $15 a day childcare.

It was Mulcair's third time visiting Sarnia since the end of July.
