Sarnia Rebound Expands Programs For Girls At Risk

Rebound Sarnia-Lambton is expanding its girls mentoring program throughout the county.

The program matches girls between nine and 13 years of age with adult women mentors, focusing on isolated rural youth in eastern Lambton County, youth involved with the child welfare system, and immigrants and newcomers to Canada.

Program Coordinator Paige Van Praet says they've received good feedback from the young girls.

Van Praet says they are hoping to get six mentors for each of the three programs, eyeing women 19 years and older who can act as a positive role model for the youth.

Programs begin in September. You can contact Rebound Sarnia Lambton if your interesting in mentoring, or participating in the program.
