Busy Agenda For Sarnia City Council

The City of Sarnia will decide its next steps in the legal battle against River City Vineyard at its meeting later today.

City councillors will decide whether or not they will pursue an appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada. There's also a third option of tabling the decision to September's council meeting.

Recovering the former Sarnia General Hospital site could cost about $9-million. An October hearing between the city and Bluewater Health will decide ownership.

Council is recommended to approve the overall Centennial Park amenities plan.

Also on the agenda is a report reviewing churches, soup kitchens, and food banks. Recommendations will be prepared for council's consideration in the fall.

Four and a half km's of major city roads are to be resurfaced in 2015 at the cost of about $1-million.

In regards to a petition for resurfacing Echo Rd. staff will see if there is enough money to fix it up as well.

Sarnia council's public session begins at 4pm.
