Inn Struggles To Meet Demand

More area residents are turning to Sarnia's Inn of the Good Shepherd for financial assistance.

Executive Director Myles Vanni says demand for assistance through the rent and utility bank at the Inn is the highest it's been in six years.

He says the Inn is paying out up to $25,000 a month, helping about 55 households.

Vanni says donations for the food bank are also down during the summer months.

He says they're in need of the basic staples from pasta, soup and cereal to children's snack items.

The Inn's mobile market is in operation and Vanni says they're looking for donations of fresh vegetables.
