A 34-year-old Strathroy man is facing criminal charges after a car struck and killed a pedestrian just west of Strathroy early Thursday afternoon.
Police say the car left the road and started travelling parallel to Napperton Dr. when it hit a pedestrian on private property.
They say the car then struck a tree and crossed the road before it came to a stop.
45-year-old Leonard Westgate of Adelaide Metcalfe died at the scene.
Mason Neufeld faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, causing death by criminal negligence, exceeding 80 mg blood alcohol content, and having liquor readily available.
He's being held in custody and will answer to the charges in a London court Friday.
