Chychrun Ready To Go For Next Season

After battling some injuries during his rookie campaign, Jakob Chychrun says he will be ready to go for the start of next season. The Sting defenceman missed 26 regular season games and all five playoff games. Despite the injury, Chychrun was named an OHL Third Team All Star, and was a nominee for both rookie of the year, and defenceman of the year. He was also Sarnia's nominee for the Red Tilson Trophy as the league's most outstanding player. Chychrun says there were a lot of great learning experiences throughout his first season, and is looking forward to the team's bright future ahead. He says it was an absolute honour when the Sting named him an Assistant Captain. He added it was tough not playing during team's first round series with Erie, but says the atmosphere and fan support during the two home games was something he's never been a part of. He's hoping that support will continue into next season. Chychrun scored 16 goals and 17 assists during his breakout season.
