Trial Date Set For Wyoming Firefighter

The Wyoming Volunteer Fire Department is rallying behind one of their own, charged with careless driving in a multi-vehicle pileup on Hwy. 402 in March, 2014.

Neil Bain was the only driver charged in the crash which involved 15 vehicles including two fire trucks.

Wyoming Volunteer Firefighters were responding to a different crash on the highway in snowy conditions when the pile up happened. Bain sustained a broken wrist and four of his colleagues were also injured.

Wyoming Fire Chief Mike Vasey calls it ridiculous and says they'll be supporting Bain when his trial gets underway November 23.

Chief Vasey says the Volunteer Firefighters' Association of Canada and the Ontario Fire Chiefs' Association are also supporting Bain.

He remains hopeful the charges will be dismissed before the November court date.
