Imperial Oil reported its second hydrogen sulfide vapour release this week, late Thursday night. Plant personnel responded to a release of H2S from a tank vent at about 11:55pm. Sirens at the Sarnia manufacturing site sounded. Imperial's Peter Cobb said monitoring at the downwind fence line showed no impact to air quality. Normal tank operation was re-established and the all clear issued at 2:05am.
