Noelle's Gift Of Fitness Held Saturday

Hundreds of people took part in the 3rd annual Noelle's Gift of Fitness Saturday. The relay-style fitness fundraiser was organized in memory of slain school teacher Noelle Paquette.

At least six area fitness centres and boxing clubs offered activities at their facilities for all age groups and there was a fun run at Canatara Park. There was also a social event at day's end featuring raffles, door prizes and entertainment at Norm's Pub and Grill.

In the past two years, the event has raised over $160,000, pushing the overall fundraising total for Noelle's Gift to $400,000.

Money has been donated to both area school boards to provide nutritional meals, classroom supplies, clothing and footwear to students in need.

London Road Public School students performed a dance outside city hall Friday morning to kick off the 3rd annual event.
