Sarnia Roads Among Region's Worst

The Canadian Automobile Association has named two Sarnia roads among its five worst in southwestern Ontario. Waterworks Rd. between Michigan Line and Lakeshore Rd. is third on the list, while Plank Rd. between Indian Rd. S. and Churchill Rd. is fourth. This is the first year CAA has broken down the list into regions. The Association's Government Relations spokesperson Caroline Grech says often times municipalities are aware of the poor road conditions. Sarnia City Council approved $1.5-million for resurfacing Waterworks Rd. from Lakeshore to Michigan Rd. in 2016. As far as the worst roads provincially, A boulevard in northern Ontario edged out a street in Toronto to top the annual list.

The CAA says the road in Timmins actually takes over the top two spots on the list, with Algonquin Boulevard West in top spot and Algonquin Boulevard East in number two.

Dufferin Street in Toronto had held the top spot for the past three years but the auto group says it's pleased the city has begun resurfacing the road.
