Sarnia's Mayor says a meeting Tuesday with Sean Finn, CN's Executive Vice President of Corporate Services was productive.
Mike Bradley says measures, including reduced speeds, have been implemented to limit the risk associated with carrying crude oil through major urban centres.
He says safety concerns have come to the forefront after several highly publicized train derailments.

Mayor Bradley says they also discussed potential track bypasses being installed between Sarnia and London that could help VIA passenger service operate more efficiently.
Currently, freight trains have the right of way, forcing passenger trains to be held up in some cases.
Bradley says none of the CN staff attending the meeting was aware of any planned improvements along the Sarnia to London corridor, but they would check both internally and with VIA.
