MPP To Lobby For Hwy 40 Funding

Sarnia-Lambton's Progressive Conservative MPP intends to lobby for a couple of major local projects following yesterday's tabling of the Ontario budget.

Bob Bailey says he's pleased to see funding reinstated for the connecting links program.

He feels the long planned widening to four lanes of Modeland Rd. from Hwy. 402 to Hwy. 40 should qualify for funding.

Bailey also wants to see a provincial commitment for Lambton College's proposed $30-million Health Education and Sustainable Care Centre.

Lambton Shores Mayor Bill Weber has a couple of local projects in mind as well for connecting link money -- Reconstruction of King St. in Forest, along with traffic studies and resurfacing needed in the resort village of Grand Bend.

Mayor Weber is pleased funding was reinstated after the issue was raised with the Transportation Minister at a recent Good Roads Meeting in Toronto.
