Rose Resigns

The Sarnia Legionnaires are looking for a new head coach after Dan Rose resigned Tuesday after five years as bench boss of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League team.

Team President Tom Knight, in a news release, says a replacement will be named in about two weeks and applications from interested parties are being welcomed.

He thanked Rose for his dedication and time commitment.

Rose, a native of Point Edward, has coached more than 500 games over the past 11 seasons.

He led the Legionnaires to a regular season championship and was named the Ontario Hockey Association's Coach of the Year in 2012.

The club, however, won just two playoff rounds during his tenure.

Knight says they're building a new team next year with ten players too old to return.
