Shoreline Protection Project Continues

Crews installing new shoreline protection at the Lambton Area Water Supply System plant continue to work away in these bitter cold temperatures.

St. Clair Region Conservation Authority Water Resources Engineer Girish Sankar says winter was the best season to complete the restoration project, because public impact is greatly reduced.

Sankar says the new soft shoreline, armor stones and concrete blocks being installed along the 280-metre stretch, where the St. Clair River meets Lake Huron, should last the next 50 years.

He says the $600,000 project is over 25 per cent complete and remains on track to be done by the end of March.
