Water Issues At Animal Farm

Sarnia's Seaway Kiwanis club is seeking expertise from Lambton College to water issues surrounding the Children's Animal Farm in Canatara.

Veteran Kiwanis Board Member Toby Bidtnes says water stopped flowing over the waterfall in to the moat over a year ago when the Ministry of Environment issued an order.

Bidtnes says they've spent a lot of money over the years, installing stones, a water fountain and pump system to help circulate the water and clean up the moat. He says it would be nice to have some validation that their plan to install a dechlorination unit will help.

Applied Research and Innovation Dean Mehdi Sheikhzadeh told the group, while speaking at their luncheon Tuesday, they could possibly look into it and may be able to assist with a technical evaluation or design.

He asked that the group submit an official expression of interest with the college.
