Police Investigate Sexual Assault Linked To Website

Sarnia police are seeking the public's help in a sexual assault investigation that involves the website Fetlife.com.

Police say the suspect and victim met on the website and the two got together in the Sarnia area in November and December, 2014.

Staff Sergeant Scott MacLean says there were non-consensual sexual acts during a very brief relationship.

Police want to speak to the suspect, a clean shaven white male, about 35-years-old, 6' tall, weighing 250 to 300 lbs with short dark hair and wearing glasses.

He's believed to reside in the Sarnia or Port Huron area and has connections in Ontario, Michigan and California.

Police have released a photo of the suspect's vehicle:  a newer model greenish blue, 2007-2008 GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab "Nevada Edition" two door truck.

It has a long box and tonneau cover and the back and rear windows are tinted.  The driver's side window had been smashed out in mid-December.

Police are also cautioning anyone using online dating sites to be very careful.  They suggest meeting in a public place and telling someone when and where the meeting is taking place.

People are cautioned not to provide personal information indicating where they live or work.

Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to contact Detective Constable Mike Kahnert at 519-344-8861 extension 6196 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
