E-Bingo Expected To Make 2015 Debut In Sarnia

Electronic bingo is expected to make its debut in Sarnia by years end.

Sarnia council has endorsed the introduction of e-bingo gaming activities within the city.

As part of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation's Charitable Bingo and Gaming Revitalization Initiative, the new electronic games will be offered in addition to the traditional paper games.

President of the Sarnia Charities Association Shirley Pettit thinks the switch to e-bingo, also known as c-gaming, will be easier on the charities.

She says funding to local charities is expected to increase by 11 per cent or $621,000 over five years.

Pettit says Bingo Country on Upper Canada Drive will now pursue a complete renovation to prepare for the transition.

She says the facility will remain open during construction, which is hoped to be complete by December.
