The Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park reopened for business Thursday afternoon after being closed Wednesday because of a suspicious package threat.
Park Executive Director Tom Strifler says they became aware of some threatening notes that led to a detailed investigation and review by Sarnia Police Service with the help of the Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Unit.
He says the park treats such public safety matters with the utmost caution and he thanks their tenants, staff and the police for their support.
Police received information around 2pm Wednesday and later evacuated the Modeland Rd. facility as a precaution.
Police say an initial search did not locate any suspicious packages but the investigation was continuing.
The Wellington St. entrance to the research park was blocked off.
Police say they do not believe public safety was an issue.
Anyone with information is asked to contact city police or Crime Stoppers.
The Research Park houses various companies, organizations and pilot facilities as well as the Atelka call centre.
