Prospects For A White Christmas "Slim To None"

Prospects for a white Christmas around Sarnia are slim to none with record mild temperatures forecast for Christmas Eve.

Environment Canada meteorologist Geoff Coulson says precipitation will be in the form of rain and we could even hear thunder.

He says the forecast high for December 24 is now 12 C (54 F) with the record for that date being 9.9 C set back in 1982.

Coulson says it will cool off Christmas Day but the high is to remain above freezing.

There's the chance of snow leading up to the start of 2015.

Coulson says long range models for the second half of January and into February suggest temperatures will average out around seasonal norms.
