Last Meeting For This City Council

Sarnia council has a rather light agenda when it meets for the last time this term in regular session today.

City staff decided to delay some items until the new council is sworn in December 1.

In councils regular meeting at 4pm, seven local businesses will be presented 2014 Accessibility Awards.

Council will host a public meeting on a rezoning application in the northend. Gilpin Funeral Chapel Ltd. wants to build a funeral home at 608 Errol St. West. Some neighbours are expression opposition.

Council is also being asked to authorize the additional expenditure of just over $24,000 to pay for an operational review of the Parks and Recreation Department, approved as part of the Arena Management Study.

At 5, 2014 budget input and grants will be discussed.

The Sarnia-Lambton Physician Recruitment Taskforce is seeking just over $72,000 in funding, to help pay for site visits for potential recruits and moving expenses of those that decide to move their practice here.
