Michigan Man Arrested At Border

A 50-year-old Marine City, Michigan man faces numerous charges after police allege he tried to cross the Blue Water Bridge into Canada while intoxicated.

Lambton OPP say around 12:15am Tuesday morning, a Chevrolet entered the commercial vehicle inspection lanes on the Canadian side of the bridge. Police say further investigation revealed the driver had been drinking. After running a check on the vehicle, police say it had been reported stolen.

The accused will appear in Sarnia court to answer to charges of impaired driving, being over the legal limit, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and resisting arrest.
