Construction Behind Schedule

This bitterly cold winter has taken its toll on construction schedules.

Eastern Power President Gregory Vogt says they’re a little behind schedule on their $360-million gas-fired electricity generating plant in St. Clair Township.

The plant replaces one originally planned for Mississauga that was cancelled by the Liberal government in 2011.

There are about 100 tradespeople on site now and that should double during peak construction. The plant is still over a year away from completion
