Remediation Plan ApprovedMarch 17, 2014 6:25am
The Ministry of the Environment has approved Imperial Oil’s remediation plan following last June’s leak of 50 barrels of oil from the company’s pipeline on Indian Rd.
MOE spokesperson Kate Jordan says the remediation plan involves a number of aspects including ground water monitoring and sampling.
The company is expected to begin work remedial work in the coming months.
Jordan says the MOE is still reviewing Sun Canadian’s remediation plan stemming from September’s leak of 200 barrels of low sulphur diesel in Sarnia’s southend.
Jordan says the goal is to review the company’s response to the spill and take preventative measures to prevent future leaks.
