Junior Hockey, Playoffs At Its Best

OHA playoff time is always a rush.

And this season it has not been any different. The Mount Forest Patriots and Walkerton Hawks have given fans a great show pushing each of the first five games into overtime. And the Patriots currently have a 3-2 series lead with Game 6 Friday night in Walkerton at 8:20 p.m.

After a record breaking season, the Listowel Cyclones start their semi-final series versus Waterloo Friday night at 7:30 p.m. The Cyclones are looking to take the next step in defending their Cherrey Cup title.

Over the course of the past 13 seasons, the Cherrey Buslines OHA Hockey team has had to make decisions on which game to broadcast when series overlap. This season, the decision is a little tougher due to the circumstances. The Cyclones are a power house and the broadcast season is built around Listowel. And the Patriots and Hawks have given us one of the most exciting finals in Junior C, following up on that seven game series last year.

So CKNX will attempt an ambitious broadcast Friday night. We will start with the Listowel Cyclones versus the Waterloo Siskins game at 7:30 p.m. with Ryan Drury and Chris Clarke.

Once that game is completed we will then switch to the Mount Forest - Walkerton game with myself on the mic. That game starts at 8:20 p.m.

We hope you enjoy our coverage as we certainly enjoy broadcasting the games and sharing the stories that these teams write year in and year out.
