New Attack Coach Getting Ready

With a roster full of talented players at his disposal for next season, new Owen Sound Attack Head Coach Todd Gill says it should be an exciting year.

With players like Nick Suzuki, Markus Phillips, and Jonah Gadjovich, Gill says he will have plenty to work with.

"To play the style of game that we are going to play, you need that offensive ability. You need the mobility, you need the hockey sense. And I feel this team as a whole has that," said Gill.

Gill, a veteran of over 1,000 NHL games, says he looks forward to the challenge of knocking off the Erie Otters and London Knights as the dominant Western Conference powers after the Attack lost out in the West Final this year to Erie.

And he wants the players to not be afraid of making mistakes.

"I want a puck posession team, I want the kids to use their talents," said Gill. "To do that they have to be able to try things and if they make a mistake you can't have them come to the bench with you saying 'what are you doing?' You have to allow them to use their talents."

Gill was announced as the new Owen Sound Attack head coach last Friday and was most recently an assistant coach with Calgary's AHL farm team the Stockton Heat.

His junior experience includes a head coaching stint with the Kingston Frontenacs.
