The Mount Forest Patriots' run for the Schmalz Cup in PJHL Junior C starts this week on the road.
The Patriots will play Game 1 in Alliston Wednesday night at 7:30pm.
The Hornets have walked through the playoffs, only losing twice. Once against Schomberg in the first round of the Carruthers Division playoffs and one game against Penetang in the second round.
Alliston sept the Stayner Siskins in the final outscoring the top seeded team 22-11.
Alliston's leading scorer is Drake Board with 36 points and the team has three other players with 20 or more points so far.
The Hornets' power play has been very strong, clicking along at 35.71%, scoring 20 G in 56 attempts. They also have 4 short handed goals on special teams.
Mount Forest swept Wingham in the first round of the Pollock Division playoffs then had to play back-to-back, 7-game series against Mitchell and Walkerton.
Forward Ryley Cribbin is their only 20-point man in the playoffs with 21 points. Spencer Holt has 19 points.
The Patriots' power play is running at 18.49% and have had the most power play opportunities, 119, of any Junior C club in the playoffs.
