Goderich at Kincardine, 8:30pm

The Kincardine Bulldogs and Goderich Flyers open their first round playoff series at the Davidson Centre tonight.

Kincardine is coming off a second place finish in the regular season and saw a huge improvement in their offense. Coach Steve Stepaniak was named Coach of the Year at the end of the season.

The Bulldogs have been able to put together a successful campaign with home grown skater. Seven players are from Kincardine and nine hail from the surrounding area from communities such as Paisley, Chesley and Tara. And the team has had a much better balanced attack with six players scoring 10 goals or more.

The Goderich Flyers were able stay close with teams through the first two periods of games through the season. But injuries, that happened early in the season and often through it, created a depth problem. Despite Kincardine winning all six meetings this season, Goderich was able to post a couple of close games against the Bulldogs. Those scores were 3-2 and 4-3 in late November.

After game one tonight, the teams will play game two in Goderich at the Memorial Arena tomorrow night at 7:30pm and game three will be back in Kincardine on Sunday at 2pm.

Mount Forest at Hanover, 8:3opm Patriots lead series 1-0

The Mount Forest Patriots were able to shut out the Barons in the first game of their series on Wednesday night.

Tonight, the Barons skate on home ice and will have a following. Hanover attracted the most fans during the regular season as 5,855 supporters filled the P & H Centre over 18 games. It's the second consecutive season that Hanover has led the league in fan support.

The Patriots will try to ride the shut out that Mathieu Oullette earned stopping 39 shots on Wednesday.

Game three of the series will be in Mount Forest tomorrow night at 8pm.
