Kincardine Golfer Shares Passion Of Sport

A Kincardine golfer has moved on from her NCAA days and is sharing her passion for the game.

Brianna Cooper played while studying at Illinois State and is now working at the Geared to Golf Performance Centre in the Durham Region. She's a coach and athletic specialist.

Cooper says the way of teaching the game has changed from when she was younger.

"Even when I was on Team Ontario, we got together once a month and I made friends that way. However, this is a little more group time for the kids and I think they all enjoy that a lot."

Cooper says Geared To Golf also provides a unique development experience that includes a fitness component along with learning the game. But for her, it's seeing the excitement in a participant's face when they grab the club for the first time.

"It's great seeing the talent in such young ages and all of the female golfers. It's really inspiring."

Cooper was able to maintain contacts with the Golf Association of Ontario while she was away at school, setting up a situation where she could become part of the Geared To Golf team.
