Injury Hinders Hellyer's Chance At Scoring Record

Lion's Head native Rob Hellyer's breakout NLL season has hit a bit of a bump in the road. He will miss at least 1 game due to injury.

The Toronto Rock forward holds the league's scoring race with 86 points from 13 games. Before the setback he was on pace to beat the league record of 116 in a single season.

Beating that record will now have to come by playing at least one less game this season. Hellyer left the Rock's last game in the first half with an upper body injury and Toronto has been forced to put him on the injured reserve. This means Hellyer has to stay out of the lineup for at least 10 days, missing this weekend's game in Calgary.

At the earliest, Hellyer could be back in the lineup in time for the Rock's next home game on Friday April 3rd. That gives him 4 more games to add to his stats. He will have to increase his production as his current rate would see him score 112 points by season's end.
