Elmira's Tyler Pasher Called Up To Canadian National Team

Tyler Pasher has had a busy March. Not long after signing a new professional contract, the soccer player from Elmira has been called up to the Canadian National Team.

A defender, Pasher will be an injury replacement after two fellow Canadians have been forced to pull themselves from camp.

Canada is taking on Guatemala and Puerto Rico in a pair of friendlies, giving Coach Benito Floro a chance to check out a number of other players in camp ahead of a busy summer.

Pasher is a former member of Toronto FC's academy program. He moved on to Finland to begin his pro career before signing with Pittsburgh of the USL this month.

This is the 20 year-old's first senior team call up. He has been a part of Canada's U-17 and U-20 programs in the past.

Canada plays Guatemala on March 27th before taking on Puerto Rico on March 30th.
