Local Volleyball Players Make OUA Men's All Star List

A number of players from the region were among those named OUA All Stars and major award winners at the conclusion of this season. Three men from Stratford and one from Goderich were recognized at the top players around the league.

Stratford's Mike Tomlinson received the Dale Iwanoczko award after a great season on and off the court for Queens. The award recognized a student athlete who combines academics, community service and on court performers. He is known around the OUA as one of the top servers. Thus past season he lead the conference in aces per set and was fourth in total aces. He was also named a First Team All-Star for the first time. Off the court, The fourth-year Bio-Chemical Engineering student had a 3.99 GPA in the first semester of 2014-15, and is the Co-President of the Varsity Leadership Council at Queen's.

Fellow Stratford native and Waterloo Middle hitter Jordan McConkey was named a Second Team All Star this season. He was on the All-Rookie team last year. McConkey led the conference with 88 total blocks. He is joined on the Second-Team by teammate Zachary Doherty of Goderich. Doherty lead the Warriors in kills per set with 3.16.

Rounding out the list is another Stratford native. Guelph middle blocker Marc Wilson was 7th in hitting and 6th in total blocks around the province.
