The pair of Shawn and Katie Cottrill know their way around the local curling rinks. The Belgrave pair are also becoming used to the arenas across the country. Both curl out of Listowel Curling club, and both are preparing for the big stages of curling once again.
Shawn is a member of Jon St. Denis' rink, who are heading off to the Ontario Tankard Monday. The competition serves as the provincial championship. They will square off in Dorchester against the best curlers in the province after winning the regional competition in Winham.
While it is a busy start for Shawn, Katie is coming off of a very busy 2014. As part of Team Flaxey, she was a part of a provincial championship team that moved on to play in some of the biggest tournaments in curling. Her travels took them to Grand Slam events in Manitoba and Saskatchewan as well as the Canada Cup in Alberta.
The couple payed a visit to CKNX to talk about the past year and their upcoming season.
