Patriots Partner With Guelph-Wellington EMS To Reward Local Youth

The Mount Forest Patriots are teaming up with local EMS to reward children with free tickets to upcoming games.

Guelph-Wellington EMS drivers in Northern Wellington County will have cards on board that are good for one regular season game.

They will be given to children that are seen being safe in the community such as looking before crossing the street or wearing a helmet while riding a bike. They will also be looking for children performing acts of kindness.

Patriots president Derek Bridgewater is a paramedic and says the idea follows the model that has been used by police in Toronto to promote safety and relationships between emergency workers and children.

Called Partners in Safety, the program will be in effect throughout Mount Forest, Arthur, Minto, Mapleton, and other northern parts of Wellington County.

The back of the card Guelph Wellington EMS will be handing out to local youth. The back of the card Guelph Wellington EMS will be handing out to local youth.
