Bill Johnston Inducted to North Huron Sports Wall of Fame

The North Huron Sports Wall of Fame has a new member.

Lifelong Wingham resident Bill Johnston was inducted at a special ceremony last night in conjunction with opening ceremonies of the Wingham midget Silver Stick.

Johnston was described as an avid supporter of minor sports in Wingham. That included attending hockey games at local arenas for over 75 years - watching up to 4 generations of many families play hockey on the local scene.

He was also part of the executive which brought Junior hockey back to Wingham in the early 70's and spent some time as executive member of the Senior Men's Wingham Royals.

The North Huron Sports Wall of Fame is located in the North Huron Wescast Community Centre in Wingham.
