Multiple sex charges after investigations in Clinton, Exeter, Elora, Collingwood

Men from Exeter, Elora and Collingwood and a teen from Clinton face charges after an OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit investigation.

Warrants were executed between September 11 to September 13 and a total of 18 charges were laid between the four people.

Joseph James Downey, 43, of Elora is charged with two counts of making child pornography available and three counts of possession of child pornography. He was remanded into custody at a bail hearing and will appear next on September 21 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.

Philip Corboy, 61, of Exeter is charged with one count of making child pornography available and two counts of possession of child pornography. He was released at a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on September 24.

A 17-year old from Clinton is charged with four counts of luring a person under 16 years of age, one count of sending sexually explicit material to a person under 16 years of age, one count of indecent exposure to a person under 16 years of age and one count of failing to comply with a youth court sentence or disposition. The teen was released at a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on October 15.

And Michael James Cole, 25, of Collingwood is charged with one count of making child pornography available and two counts of possession of child pornography. He was released at a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on October 16.

The investigation is ongoing.
