Mental health calls common for local police

Mental Health calls are a very common concern for local police forces in Midwestern Ontario, with Hanover police reporting over 600 incidents in the past five years.

West Grey police responded to six calls last week regarding people struggling with mental health issues.

Police encourage residents who have mental health concerns to give them a call or to call the Grey Bruce Health Unit.

Police say the occurrences are frequent, and those suffering are often unable to find the help they need.

Friends and family members can help by speaking with health care professionals or going to see a professional along with the victim.

Any person with concerns can contact West Grey police at (519)-369-3046.
