Owen Sound Police Seize Over $100K In Drugs

Owen Sound police have concluded four investigations resulting in the seizure of over $100,000 worth of drugs and $18,000 in cash.

Over the last four weeks, the Owen Sound Police Drug Unit and Criminal Investigation Branch seized fentanyl, heroin, meth, marijuana and prescription pills.

Other items seized include shatter production equipment and items associated with drug trafficking.

In total, four men and two women have been charged.

Police say the most deadly drug seized was fentanyl, which reflects the opioid crisis in Canada, and locally.

The most recent seizure, which occurred Thursday, resulted in the seizure of shatter in addition to THC edibles that appear marketed towards youth. These edibles can be dangerous if ingested by a young person who mistakenly thought it was candy or some other type of treat.
